Full road closure on Woodhouse Lane June 2022

We are writing to let you know that the contractor (VolkerFitzpatrick) undertaking the work on the Botley bypass will soon be starting the next stage of works on Woodhouse Lane to replace and upgrade an existing culvert structure which allows an existing watercourse to flow under the road.

This will require a full road closure on Woodhouse Lane for approximately four weeks.

The closure will be in place from 06 June 2022 for four weeks. During this time, the road will be closed to all vehicles from the Maypole roundabout Junction.

Pedestrian access will be maintained through the working area. We have liaised Hampshire and VolkerFitzpatrick to ensure that a safe and appropriate diversion is in place for any students to use this route to and from Wildern.

The pink line on the map attached indicates the diversion that students may follow and this will also be manned by VolkerFitzpatrick to ensure it is always accessible.

As ever care must be taken when crossing any roads near to the closure even if there is a reduced risk of traffic.

We have been assured that every effort will be made to complete the works quickly to reduce the duration of the closure however these are estimated timescales from the contractor and further notification will be given should there be any significant change to the dates.

More information will be shared with you as the road system starts to evolve before the end of this term with regards to any changes for September. .

Kind regards

Mr Knight
