Apprentice Theatre Technician

Apprentice Theatre Technician (37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year). Monday to Thursday 8.30am – 4.30pm and Friday 8.30am – 4.00pm. Grade A – Step 1 £18,333 plus 24 days annual holiday plus Bank Holidays.

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic apprentice to work alongside staff and students to create high quality stage productions. In addition to our school facilities which include purpose built auditoriums, music suites, practice rooms, recording studios and a dance studio there will be the opportunity to work in The Berry Theatre (a 306 seater professional theatre) which is located on the campus.

You must have minimum GCSE English and Maths at Level 4 or above. The successful candidate will need to be interviewed and accepted by Chichester College before the apprenticeship is guaranteed.

The successful candidate will have some experience working in a theatre environment and will be familiar with basic aspects of stage management and operation. They will work as part of the Creative Arts department during the working day. Additional hours worked over and above of the contracted working hours will be given back as TOIL. The working week will be split: Monday to Thursday will be spent working within the school and Fridays will be reserved for college training sessions and time to complete your apprentice log.

This is a great opportunity for any young person looking to get into the technical side of performing arts. Not only will you get the hands-on experience of working on stage productions, but you will also receive ABTT certification when passing the apprenticeship!
