Ofsted

Dear Parents/Carers,

As many of you are aware our school was inspected by Ofsted on 23rd and 24th April 2024. I am delighted to inform you that the inspection team  awarded us an overall ‘good’ grading acknowledging the adaptations, refocus and innovation of the last two years.

As you will see from the report we were inspected across 4 areas:

  • The quality of education (Good)

  •  Behaviour and attitudes (Good)

  • Personal development (Good)

  • Leadership and management (Good)

A link to the report can be found here

The final report identifies a number of key strengths:

  • The school sets high expectations for pupils’ academic learning

  • Pupils are prepared well for life beyond school

  • Pupils achieve well across a range of academic and vocational subjects

  • The school’s ‘Education for Life’ programme gives pupils a firm understanding of tolerance and respect

  • The school’s curriculum sets out pupils’ learning in a clear sequence in each subject

  • Teachers and leaders make purposeful use of assessment information

  • Disadvantaged pupils achievement is better than published outcomes

I am pleased that the contributions made by every member of our community has been recognised. We could not achieve all we do without the support from our students, the local community, Governors, Trustees and our partner schools within the Trust.

What was evident in all of our conversations with the inspection team was the incredible passion our students have for their/our school and how much they have seen it grow since our last inspection.

Our areas of focus align to what we already know and will plan these into our school development plan 2024-7 and this will support our continued drive to provide an exceptional educational experience for every student. Our values and culture of ‘Every student matters, every moment counts’ underpin this vision.

I hope you are as pleased as we are with this outcome as it affirms the work we have been doing over the last two years within school. Thank you for the continued support that you give to us here at Wildern, it is appreciated.

Mrs Oakley
