Trust & Community

New Schools:

As of the 1 July 2018 we became a Multi Academy Trust, which is very similar to our current status and legal entity but will include two additional schools.  Our commitment to our current learners and community remains the same; providing high quality teaching and learning for all.

Wildern has been given approval from the Department for Education to open two new free schools in the local community to meet basic need. The first school known as Boorley Park Primary School is a two form entry primary school in the heart of the new Boorley Park development. It opened in September 2019 with one class of reception children and will move to two forms for next year’s intake. The second school is a 7-form entry secondary school located at Woodhouse Lane in Hedge End, to be known as Deer Park School. Work has already started on site with an opening date of September 2021.

Building on Wildern’s excellent reputation, commitment to the local community and track record of providing high quality education we are excited about the opportunity to contribute further to the educational provision in the area.

We have worked very closely with Hampshire County Council and the appointed contractors for each project in the development and design of the proposed new schools. The Section 10 consultations for Deer Park will take place in the Spring term 2020, where we will be able share some of the design images.

What next:

  • Consultation and sharing of key information via the Section 10 consultations for Deer Park school
  • Sharing the educational vision for each school
  • Establishing the Trust and Deer Park websites

There will be much to do in the coming months and we will use this link page on the Wildern Academy Trust website to update students, parents and the community of key developments and dates of interest as we progress forward.
